Halili- Cruz School of Ballet wins 21 Awards at 18th Asia Pacific Dance Competition




The Halili-Cruz School of Ballet (HCSB) Philippines won 21 awards in various categories at the recently concluded 18th ASIA PACIFIC DANCE COMPETITION last August 18 – 21, 2016. The four day competition was held at the Sands Casino Theater in Macau. Halili-Cruz School of Ballet (HCSB) has represented the Philippines in this competition for the past 18 years.



This year, 75 personally trained dancers presented 40 original choreographed entries that garnered the following awards:
Under 12 yrs old - Trio Ballet - 1st Place
Under 12 yrs old - Ensemble Ballet - 1st Place
Under 15 yrs old - Troupes Modern - 1st Place

Under 9 - Solo Ballet - 2nd Place
Under 12 - Solo Ballet - 2nd Place
Under 15 - Ensemble - 2nd Place
Open Duo - 2nd Place
Open Ensemble - 2nd Place

Under 12 - Troupes Ballet - 3rd Place
Under 12 - Ensemble Modern - 3rd Place

The Halili-Cruz School of Ballet (HCSB) is considered one of the best ballet schools in the Philippines and has been awarded as the “Most Outstanding Ballet School in Asia” from 2000 to the present. The school has successfully represented the Philippines in different international festivals and competitions in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Brunei, South Korea, Russia, England and the USA.


Halili Cruz School of Ballet offers a comprehensive ballet training program authored by Ms. Shirley Halili-Cruz, the school’s director and founder. The program includes a 2 level Tiny Tots Syllabus, a 5 level Baby Ballet Syllabus and a 12 level Classical Ballet Syllabus available throughout the year.
The main studio is located at 1227 Quezon Avenue, Quezon City, Philippines. The school has five (5) studios for a total of 550 square meters of dance space. HCSB has the following branches: Saint Pedro Poveda College, Miriam College, Saint Mary's College and Alabang Country Club.
